Foundation Dog Agility Courses
Please note: If your dog is reactive or aggressive with other dogs they must complete a behaviour consultation and a minimum of one round of Novice Group Obedience prior to being eligible for Agility training.
Underdog Training now offers Foundation Agility training courses, run at our Hawthorn East, Melbourne location. These 4 week courses will teach you and your dog all about the fun and games of agility! Places are limited so contact us to reserve your place now!
These agility courses are suitable for any dog and owner (provided your dog is physically sound). If your dog is not reliable off lead, please be prepared to have particular exercises altered for you. It is likely that your off lead control will improve significantly over the 4 week period. You may complete as many Foundation courses as you wish.
Your Underdog Agility course will teach a range of exercises including but not limited to:
Agility handling skills and co-ordination, Jumps and Tunnels, Obstacle focus, and increasing confidence on moving surfaces.
Grid jumping, combining obstacles, contact obstacles: The A Frame, Dog walk, and getting reliable contacts.
Front and Rear Crosses, Teaching independent weavers: The pause table, balance games broad jump and jumping patterns
The Complete Picture: running an agility course, distance control and trouble shooting
We do ask that every participant assist with EITHER set up or pack up of training equipment every week.
In extreme weather circumstances, agility classes will be cancelled to maintain everyone’s safety. When this occurs, all participants will be able to make up their missed class in the next agility course, however- refunds are not available.
Dog Agility Class Times & Locations
Please Note: Dogs MUST be physically sound to participate in agility. Dogs with serious joint issues or who are extremely over weight will not be eligible to participate. Every participant will be subject to inspection by an Underdog trainer before commencing Agility training. Dogs under the age of 12 months are eligible to participate but exercises will be modified for these dogs. While child handlers are welcome they must be supervised by an adult if under the age of 16 years and may not handle a dog who is either aggressive/ reactive or does not have a reliable recall.
